Used to pull the cable through the pipe.
Some notes about the available pilot wire in the pipe:
- Only use the available pilot wire to pull the electrical cable when the electrical cable has an outer diameter of less than 20 mm so that the total weight of the cable is less than the allowable tensile strength.
- In case the cable has an outer diameter greater than 20 mm but less than 50 mm, replace the available pilot wire with a nylon wire with a diameter of 6 mm or more to pull the cable.
- In case the cable has an outer diameter greater than 50 mm, it is recommended to replace the available pilot wire with a plastic-coated silk cable to pull the cable, the diameter of the silk cable is from 3 mm to 16 mm (depending on the weight of the cable to be installed).
- In case of installing 110 kV or 220 kV high voltage underground cables, please contact Ba An directly to order a pilot wire with a plastic-coated silk cable.
There are three common types of pilot wires: 1.0 mm; 1.7 mm and 2.0 mm are used for the following pipe sizes:
